Okay so I've been putting off posting for a long time. So these are all the belly pics we've taken. The last one we took yesterday... even though right now I'm on bed rest and not supposed to be standing for to long. It only took a second to take the picture though. I'm excited because the baby could be coming soon and I can't wait to meet him, but at the same time I don't want him to come because he'll have to be in the hospital for awhile because he's premature.

Bed rest isn't that bad, at least when I have David to help out. Hopefully things won't get too crazy when he starts school again in a couple days. It's really hard for me to be at home all day and not be able to clean the house... or do anything. Luckly I have some great friends around who have dropped off movies and books for me. I'm also getting pretty good at playing guitar hero in a reclined position :)

I'm on pills that stop me from having contractions and once I hit full term (in three weeks!) I don't have to take them anymore. My doctor's pretty sure I'll have the baby before then, but I think I'll make it. Last week was the first week of bed rest and it actually went by really fast, so hopefully the next few weeks will do the same.

So here is a little of some school work I can show. I was asked to come with a logo for a lab research group. Now for those who now something about logos: I know that the simpler the better, and I know that people outside the world of mechanical engineering wouldn't know that the grid lines is a depiction of computer-aided analysis for stress of the 'Y' being twisted; but the lab loves it. No one else has a logo like this. And I believe a great deal about identification, and belonging (or setting yourself apart). This has helped the lab feel more like an official group, distinguished. I would show other things of work, but they might be too proprietary.

baby news

Okay folks... finally, we know what the baby is!! Yesterday David and I went in for the appointment and I was so nervous. I was scared they would find something wrong, or we wouldn't be able to tell the sex... and I was just plain scared to see the baby. I don't know why that scared me I guess it just made everything very real. Obviously a pregnancy test, bulging abdomen, multiple times hearing the heart beat and finally feeling the baby beating up my insides wasn't real enough for me. Actually feeling the baby inside is so cool... this little guy is super active most days.

Anyways... back on topic! The ultrasound was very cool. As the doctor went through her list of things to check, she told us what she was looking for and if everything looked normal. Everything was fine. We learned that the baby's vital organs are performing as they should, and there are no backbone or brain issues. The only thing a little off was one of the baby's kidneys looked like it was a different texture than the other one, but she didn't seem concerned about it, so hopefully it will work out okay. We also learned that the baby looks like it's five days older than what my due date would make it but that isn't enough of a difference to change the due date. I think it just means I'm going to have a big baby. This is, of course, all David's fault ;) According to the chart she showed us, the baby's head is also on the bigger end of the scale.

So the doctor asked us if we wanted to know what it is and we both said yes, and she pointed out the baby's "outdoor plumbing system" and I said "I knew it!" We were both hoping for a girl first but, of course, neither of us are disappointed at all. In fact it seems like every time I look at the ultrasound pictures I get even more excited. Seriously... even though he looks like an alien, and probably will for the first month or two after he's born, I just think he's so cute. We got to look at his face for a minute during the ultrasound and he was making little sucking motions with his mouth. David is so excited to! He immediately started mentioning the things he's going to do with his boy... play with Lego's, go fishing, etc. I can't wait to see our little man in person and get to know his personality. It's so amazing to think that I helped make him and he's growing inside me. He's my son... that's so weird and so exciting at the same time!

The winter times

No picture or anything. I just wanted to say, this week has been nice. It's been near 40 degrees. Sometimes don't have to wear a thick coat. Before that it has been cold and snowy. Lot's of snow. Recently I showed Naudia on one of our cold days that San Diego was going to be above 80 that day. If only.... Right now we have a battle over which coast is the best. :)

Just also wanted to say, our dog is crazy. I think she may be losing it. Two funny things: she can't make it down the stairs before her bladder starts giving out; she once used the snow bank as a toilet, no squatting. Makes for interesting conversations between Naudia and I.

My husband gone blog wild

Okay so David and I wanted to have a blog where we could both write about the cool stuff going on in our lives. But holy crap he's writing more than I do. I got on to post and I see three new postings already there.

Anyways, David finally got his license to drive a motorcycle (he just had his permit before) which means I can ride with him. So we went for our first ride together this week for like 20 min. and I am so hooked. I love riding on motorcycles!!! Seriously. I really prefer riding with someone... I'm a little nervous about ever driving one myself... but maybe someday we'll each have our own hog to take road trips on.

I don't have my own helmet so David let me borrow his. Hopefully soon I'll have my own, but I'm not in a rush... it's getting to cold out to ride. Plus it won't be much longer before my belly is to big to fit anyways :(

The dog

This is our dog Ginger. Just a FYI. You probably already know her. Here she had been shaved for the summer. Recently, she's been on antibiotics for an infection. She's been doing good though. She's stayed down to 18 pounds which is a good wieght for her. Every once in a while, she sits on her bed a certain way with her feet out in front of her that makes Naudia and I think she's the cutest. Maybe we'll get one of her 'poses' captured in a pic.

White boy! (bird)

Never thought this was possible. If you can see this picture, it's an albino finch. I thought it was pretty cool. I think it's new to our area (parking lot) this year. It's definitely the strangest bird I've seen.
